If you are in a situation where you have the correct details
for your email account, and the servers have also been set up correctly but you
are still not able to send or receive emails, there could be temporary block
keeping you from accessing your email account from your IP address. To resolve
this please follow these instructions.
- Access
your email settings (tools, accounts, properties)
- Go
onto the advanced option and you should see the incoming and outgoing
server ports. Please make sure to change the port to 110(POP accounts) or 143 (IMAP accounts) for incoming and
25 for outgoing making sure that the SSL is not ticked.
- This
should stop the temporary blocks from occurring
- You
will then need to call 0871 717 6683 to request to have the temporary
blocks removed so that your email can start working again.
The reason that this happens is that something (a
software) on the system is trying to access ports on our server, which do not
exist.
