How to resolve Number of connections exceeded for IMAP connection?

There is a limit of 25 IMAP connections per IP address . If you will exceed that limit for your mailboxes there will be issues with your Emails (sending / receiving).

By default “Maximum number of server connections to cache” is set to 5 (Per Mailbox).
You need to reduce it to “1

You have the control to avoid this issue. As an example for Thunderbird, please follow the necessary steps below in your Email client:

>Click on Tools
>Click on Account Settings
>Click on Server Settings
>Click on Advanced
>Click on IMAP “Maximum number of server connections to cache” Default Value “5” (Set it to 1 for each mailbox).

Please repeat the process if you are using more mailboxes /computers.

If you are using a different email client it may well be that this is not possible so please check to see if this is possible for your email client or, if you need any help finding this out for your email client, please contact our technical support team via our Livechat
