Please follow these steps to set up the email account on a HTC sensation phone.
To set up an email account on the HTC phone, please follow the below instructions:
1. Load up the mail application
2. Press add account
3. Press Other (POP3/IMAP)
4. Enter email address – Please enter your full email address
5. Enter password – please enter your email address password
6. Please tap on Next
7. Select server type – Please select the email account type POP3 or IMAP. Please select IMAP if you want to use your email account on multiple computers or email clients or POP3 if not
8. Enter username – Tap on username, and enter the full email address you are trying to set up
9. Enter incoming server – please input mail.yourdomain e.g if your domain is example.com then it will be mail.example.com
10. Turn off SSL encryption of incoming email messages – Press the drop down list below the Security type and select None.
11. Enter incoming port –
a. For POP3 the Server port is 110
b. For IMAP the server port is 143
12. Please tap on Next
13. Turn on SMTP authentication – an option will appear on the screen asking you to authenticate the SMTP server. Please make sure that this option Is tick
14. Enter outgoing server – Please select the outgoing mail server and input mail.yourdomain e.g if your domain is example.com then it will be mail.example.com
15. Please turn off SSL encryption of outgoing email messages — press the drop down list below the Security type and select none.
16. Enter outgoing port — Press the field below and input the server port 25 or 587
17. Please tab on next
18. Enter email account name – Please input a description for your email account that will display on your HTC phone.
19. Enter sender name – please input how you would like the sender name to appear
20. Retrieve email messages – once your email account has been set up successfully the phone may start downloading emails.
Congratulations you have set up your email account on your HTC Phone.
